Ich habe da eine recht interessante Stelle entdeckt, Kapitel 9, Penguin 1990, S. 85, als Nicco Zypern zum ersten Mal anläuft:
"He said nothing aloud. His mind said, without reason, [kursiv] I wish I were dead, and had sown no seed, and had left no one to suffer [kursiv ende]. He thought, not of the usurping royal bastard and his Egyption hordes, but of a Greek with a wooden leg listening somewhere, amused. And of his grandfather, Jordan. He didn't know why he thought of them. ..."
Ist das eine "Radio Free Lymond"-Stelle? Allerdings hat Nicco zu dem Zeitpunkt noch keinen Samen gesät (Bonne???) und warum kommt ihm das ausgerechnet bei Zypern? OK, gut geht es Lymo zB im Mittelmeerraum nicht unbedingt, aber mir fehlt der Bezug zu Zypern. Und warum Jordan?
Sehr nett finde ich den Teil als Nicco nachdem er aus Brügge rausfliegt ganz allein und unabhängig herumzieht und das irrsinnig genießt. Interessant auch, daß er zu dem Zeitpunkt eigentlich keine konkreten Zukunftspläne hat, sondern sich nur treiben läßt, bis er sich wieder um das Sölnderregiment kümmert. Was wäre wohl aus ihm geworden, wenn man ihn nicht nach Zypern verschleppt hätte?
