Padded Jacks / Arming Doublets:
Jacks are usually quilted linen, padded with wool, and offer cheap protection for soldiers, whereas arming doublets are worn under armour and are the garment to which all the armour is attached. They also pad the armour away from the body. Either may be buckled or laced.
